Q: What should I expect at my first CrossFit class?
You should be prepared for a fun and challenging workout experience. We will take the time to scale the workout and the movements to meet your athletic ability. After a dynamic warm-up performed as a group, everyone begins the WOD (Workout Of the Day) at the same time. As a community, we are all trying our best while simultaneously encouraging others to do the same. When the workout is over, give high fives, get a drink, short cool-down and we’re done.
Q: Do I need to get in shape to take CrossFit classes?
No. CrossFit is a universally scalable strength and conditioning program designed to challenge people of all ages and fitness levels. Most people who begin at CrossFit Pampa have little to no training experience at all. It’s not about where you are, it’s where you’re going!
Q: What makes CrossFit different from other gyms?
Lots of things. First of all, we look different. No machines, mirrors, or scales, just results. Secondly, every WOD (Workout Of the Day) is measurable and repeatable. In other words, we could repeat a workout 3 months from now and compare the results. This creates a competitiveness within yourself and among your peers. Finally, and most noticeably, we are constantly encouraging and congratulating one another. We all clap and yell when someone gets their first pull-up, sets a personal best, or just gives it their all.
