Rope climbing is a skill. For some, brute strength can quickly get you to the top by going legless. This method is useful and studly but once your grip wears out, and it will eventually, you are confined to the ground, staring up the rope, and waiting for the feeling in your forearms to return. We typically teach a single leg wrap for beginners which switches the emphasis from all arms to mostly legs. This takes some practice, but will give you the ability to do more rope climbs with less effort, aka efficiency! Learning and practicing many different varieties of the rope ascent will make you a more well-rounded functional athlete. This week you will want to wear proper clothing / socks to comfortably climb some ropes.
